Rev. Dr. Kenneth D. Cooper

THE REVEREND DR. KENNETH D. COOPER is an ordained minister and preacher of the Gospel of his Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. He has preached to God’s children from the United States to Africa and South America.

Prior to full-time ministry Dr. Cooper had a career in information technology. He worked at JP Morgan Chase Bank as Technical Officer, where he maintained the servers for all the Northeast branches. He also worked at ABC News and Sports as the IT Manager for Good Morning America, 20/20 and Primetime News.

Dr. Kenneth D. Cooper transitioned into full-time ministry in 2006, as the Minister to Missions at Fountain Baptist Church. In that role, Dr. Cooper offered leadership in Fountain Baptist Church’s ministries in South Africa and the United States of America. He was also tasked to partner with Lott Carey Foreign Missions Convention to develop, implement and manage Fountain Baptist’s one-million dollars Hurricane Katrina recovery project. Along with his missional calling, Dr. Cooper is a preacher and teacher of God’s saving message.

Dr. Cooper served as the Senior Pastor of Christian Faith Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. Under his leadership, the men of Christian Faith raised twenty-thousand dollars for an African American male student at the Historical Black College and University of North Carolina Central University. In January 2019, Dr. Cooper was called to serve and proudly serves as the Senior Pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Moseley, Virginia.

Reverend Dr. Kenneth D. Cooper has earned four degrees. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he was awarded a full academic scholarship by the Black Engineers Technology Alumni Association. He also has a Master of Divinity degree from Drew University School of Theology. With the keen understanding of pastoral work, Dr. Cooper matriculated at Monmouth University School of Social Work where he earned his Master of Social Work degree. In addition to providing pastoral leadership, Dr. Cooper enrolled in the Global Leadership program at Virginia Union University Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology where he received his Doctor of Ministry degree. His concentration was Twenty-first Century Global Missional Leadership.

Dr. Kenneth D. Cooper was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. He is married to the former Reverend LaKeeyna S. Sims, who is a graduate from Rutgers University and Duke Divinity School. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. They have two children, D’Shaun C. Cooper, a graduate from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and Kennedy A. Cooper. a junior at University of North Carolina in Charlotte “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind and Healthy Spirit” is Dr. Cooper’s lifetime mantra.
